Welcome to the 25th Annual WRCA Convention



What happens at the Convention?


SUNDAY: The convention starts on Sunday evening November 7th. Convention registration, vendors' rooms and a wonderful hospitality room will be open at approximately 5:00 p.m. Late evening activities include unofficial balloon and face painting jams nightly at the Sidewalk Café.

MONDAY: The GRAND OPENING class starts at 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning. Door prizes will be given away. Convention registration will again be open at 7:00 a.m. for those who did not register on Sunday. Classes will go from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday. There will be face painting classes all day, plus three other topics each session. Competition meeting will be at 5:00 p.m. People's Choice Balloon Competition is at 6:30 p.m. (be there to vote before 7:00) followed by a vendors' show and more prizes.

Two special opportunities are added for this anniversary year, featuring Clown Hall of Fame members. Experienced clowns may choose Jim Howle's production intensive Monday through Wednesday which will result in a full show on Thursday. These People must participate in all of Jim's classes to be in the show. Monday and Tuesday afternoon sessions offer the opportunity to develop your performance with Earl Chaney. Bring some performance you use and see how Earl can help you improve it.

TUESDAY: Balloon twister classes will be available from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. this year. Two or three other classes are available each session from 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. plus Earl and Jim's specialties. Face painting competition will be held at 4:30 p.m. and Junior/Teen competition at 6:30 p.m. At 7:30 p.m. we will take an anniversary clown group picture, followed by open mic for non-competitive skits and schtick.

Wednesday: Skit Competition is in the morning. Classes continue from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A professional photographer will be available to take professional photos from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Balloon competition will be held in the afternoon this year. In the evening will be our Theme Party - "Under the Sea."

THURSDAY: Paradeability competition is in the morning. followed by our 25th Anniversary Clown Show. At 3 p.m. we will have our general meeting, which includes election of officers.

We end the convention with an Awards Banquet Thursday evening, with entertainment.
